KMS Spring Book Fair
Attention Parent Volunteers:
The Spring KMS Book Fair will run from Tuesday, March 31 - Friday, April 3. Students get to visit the Book Fair at least once during their Reading classes. The sale is a wonderful opportunity to bring a diverse selection of popular books to our children and get them excited about reading, but we need LOTS of volunteers to make it happen twice a year. We need 2 volunteers per shift to check students out, restock books, and help students with book selection. Please consider giving just a little bit of your time to staff one or more of the shifts. Even if you can only give an hour of your time it would be appreciated. You can sign up to help by clicking on the link below.
Sports Drinks & Energy Drinks
With busy student athletes, families will often grab food and beverages in transit to games or practices. Knowing whether sports drinks and energy drinks are appropriate for children can be confusing due to tricky marketing and media hype. Please click on this link to read about the differences between these highly marketed beverages, and how to make water an everyday drink when your family is on the go or at home.

You only have one voice - what will you use it to say? April is National Poetry Month. Try to connect with poetry - Write a poem, speak to your friends in rhyme, ask a teacher or family member about his/her favorite poem, listen to song lyrics, share a poem with a friend and bring a poem in your pocket to school on April 30th! The more poetry you think about, the smarter you'll be. The more you think about the world a little more deeply, the more powerful you'll become.
